I didn't mean you, I just meant wetsanding in general and the swearing is me getting "pumped" up thinking about it hahaha. There is only ONE way to get swirls out, thats by buffing. please do not get confused with this scratchX shit or any other scratch remover that "pretends" to remove scratches by hand... its impossible. All those things do is maybe... maybe cover them up or make them look a bit better. Scratch X will *however* work on say a paint ruboff from somebody's car that got on your paint... but thats where its uses end.

Getting out swirls requires two simple things. Heat - generated by the buffer (again don't by the cheap shit as the 30-40$ autozone buffers don't spin half as fast you need them to.. so your just wasting cash). At least spend the 150-200$ for a porter cable buffer.
The other part you need in removing swirls is a compound that will break down the clear coat somewhat. There are different grits so be careful with what you pick. This coompound slowly works down the swirls/scratches until the clear is flat with the swirl or scratch.

In conclusion.... the compound is applied to the pad, the compound and its grits break down under the heat produced by the spinning of the pad. The heat PLUS the broken down compound work together to remove unwanted swirls and scratches.

As me how I know

My Cobra when I first got it... noticed half the door has been buffed and the other side hasn't.

I really like the Turtle Wax ICE. You can put it on just about anything, paint, plastic, And comes off fairly easy. You can also use it in the sun!!

Meguiars swirl x and ultimate compound work pretty good ive never used them by hand. Best thing is to get the car buffed. I just recently did my SHO and it made a huge difference. Then again i used to do detailing at inskip so i have a bit of experience and i wouldn't just buy a buffer and attempt to buff your car. I know DJ does detailing and im sure a few other people on here do. But here is an example of what my sho looked like before and after.

before

after
